Arterial and Aortic Arch Cannulae
Arterial cannulae are used to perfuse the ascending aorta or femoral artery. Aortic arch cannulae perfuse the ascending or descending aorta. These cannulae are inserted into the ascending aorta or into the major arterial vessels in order to deliver the oxygenated blood from the heart/lung machine into the circulatory system of the patient.
